LennyLamb Lennylight Baby Carrier Review

Beth Beaney - the Executive Babywearing Consultant at Love To Be Natural

When I first heard of LennyLamb (more than 10 years ago now), I thought Lenny was on the lam. Turns out he's not. He's just a cartoon sheep. For a babywearing brand that makes incredible baby carriers and slings.

There are lots of famous Lenny's, aren't there?

Let me see... there's Lenny Henry.

And Lenny Kravitz.

There's Lenny from the Simpson’s.

And there's LennyLamb.

Who? What? Huh?

Regardless of the fact that the rabbit above looks like me on any given Tuesday afternoon, LennyLamb are pretty famous. At least in the babywearing world.

Their carriers are amazing and super-popular, very well made and very high quality. They look stunning too.

The LennyLamb logo.
Lenny the lamb. He's a cartoon sheep. I'm not sure why.

Take the new LennyLight Baby Carrier, for instance.

Few weeks ago I had a customer in the shop wanting advice on using her 'big brand' carrier.

The kind of big brand carrier that comes with everything except a rocket launcher and grenade pack.

I mean, even its accessories had accessories!

But to be perfectly honest, she hated it.

Didn't matter that is was a big name brand with a big price tag.

And I could see why.

It was huge on her. You could hardly see her for being completely covered by the carrier, never mind see the baby she was carrying.

What was most interesting was how the carrier made her feel. The carrier itself was so overwhelming and cumbersome that it made her nervous.

She didn’t like it.

And because she didn't like it, baby didn’t like it.

And because baby didn't like it, it made her afraid that she was doing something wrong.

She was dancing around the shop with such nervous energy that it was making my left eye twitch.

So she's nervously dancing around the place trying to calm a fractious baby, and I'm standing there with a twitching left eye, and I swear I can feel my right eye start to go...

...so sensing her discomfort, I suggested the LennyLight.

And OMG she loved it.

Like I mean, really loved it.

She thought it was incredible.

She thought it was amazing.

She thought it was best thing since… I want to say since sliced bread, but sliced bread doesn’t really compare to how amazing she thought the Lennylight actually was.

The best part? It instantly transformed how she felt about carrying her baby and babywearing.

This was an entirely new experience for her.

The LennyLight is light (duh), airy, non-bulky, and it fitted her so much better than the 'big brand carrier'.

She was happy and baby was happy. She was no longer worried that she was doing something wrong. She wasn't nervous. She wasn’t afraid.

She was dancing around the shop with happy energy!

My eyes had stopped twitching!

I mean, actually think about how profound that is (her being happy I mean, not the fact that my eyes weren't twitching any more).

That's deep, man.

Rather than giving up on babywearing, she’s now going to create years of memories carrying her baby.

Memories that will last a lifetime.

A bonding experience like no other that will last them both the rest of their lives.

You can have these kind of snuggles too. This is a bonding experience like no other.

Say those last 3 sentences back to yourself. Slowly if necessary.

Had she continued using the 'big brand carrier', she would have given up babywearing entirely.

The right carrier completely changed the trajectory of her parenting journey (for the better, obviously, I'm not sure if I have to spell that out for you or not).

Anyway, she loved it so much I had to loan her one of the testers LennyLamb had sent me. She simply wasn’t going to leave without it.

Great for toddler carrying too.

"Well hold on there a minute, Beth" I hear you say. "What on earth makes it so amazing? You've described the Lennylight as totally life-changing!"

Well I'm glad you asked that.

You're right, I have. And she did (find it life changing).

The bottom line is that the Light is the new pared down carrier from LennyLamb (I'm sure you've figured this out already, but there's no harm in just repeating that part).

Think light and compact.

Think ultra-easy.

Minimum number of straps, buckles & adjustment options. But no compromise on comfort & safety.

Good from newborn - 3 years.

Pared back, but in a good way.

So if you’re looking for a carrier that’s even better than whatever the best thing since sliced bread is, then look no further.

Safe to say it’s a stunning carrier and one that I’ve quickly fallen in love with.

Let me fill you in on a few details, just for those of you that are interested:

- Age: newborn - toddler (0 - 36 months)

- Fully adjustable - grows with your baby

- Simple & intuitive adjustment options for a perfect fit and healthy ergonomic positioning at all stages of your baby's development

- Positions: Front & back

- Fabric: 100% cotton

- Very light & compact

- Magnetic chest belt - you can freely slide the belt along the entire length of the shoulder straps or completely remove it. Just bring the buckles closer to each other and they will snap into place by themselves!

- Storage pocket placed on the waist belt. Practical and handy; with a super easy magnet fastener. Will easily contain a phone, keys and other bits and bobs.

- Easy fit - soft shoulder straps and hip belt for your comfort, with simple adjustment so they are quick and easy for you to adjust.

The LennyLight has crossable shoulder straps.
Crossable shoulder straps means versatile and comfortable carrying.

So that's the LennyLight.

An amazing carrier if ever there was one.

Like I say in the product description for it:

You have to experience

Eating toast and jam

With your baby

In a LennyLamb

And dropping toast crumbs

On top of their wee head.

(This isn’t as bad as dropping pizza - I speak from experience).

I have also been known to drop pasta sauce, pasta, ice cream, fruit of all kinds, you name it (I make it sound like I can't eat properly, but hey, it's just part of the fun of babywearing! Everybody's done it. Even if they say they haven't. Honestly.).

Lennylight Wild Wine Bouquet is exceptionally pretty.
This is Wild Wine Bouquet. It's gorgeous, right?!

Oh, and there are some really beautiful designs. I mean, Wild Wine Bouquet is ridiculously gorgeous!

And there's a DINOSAUR one too!
