Love & Carry Babywearing & Maternity Coat Review
A new review of the softshell babywearing jacket from beloved Ukrainian brand Love & Carry.
So imagine this…
===
You’re dancing round the living room with your baby in a sling, he’s just dozed off to sleep, and you think to yourself, “Ooo, I could go a cup of tea!”
And look at you go, you’re off to the kitchen, boiling the kettle with 2 hands free, singing to yourself,
"“Baby’s asleep and I’m making tea, I’m gonna have me a choccie biccie or three…”
You go to the fridge, and dang it! No milk!
What was the ONE thing you asked Dave to do?!
*“&!!@$%&!! DAVE!! What was the one %£$@@@!! thing I asked you to ~@@!~!! do? Bring home some £!$$%%^ $!££&&£@ £!@@*&&% $£$%!@@! milk!,” (you say inwardly to yourself).
Now you’re gonna have to go and get the milk yourself. With a sleeping baby in tow.
You look outside and it’s chucking it down. Like, stair rods.
Dang.
But hey, it doesn’t matter! Because what do you have?
That’s right! You have lactose intolerance a LOVE & CARRY BABYWEARING COAT!
So you pop on the coat, with baby still asleep.
Slip on your shoes, with baby still asleep.
Grab your keys and out the door you go, with, yes, that’s right, baby still asleep.
You nip down the road to the shops (past the neighbour you don't like, but phew! you don't have to say hello on account of the fact it's raining and he's not outside) and lift a couple of pints of milk. Along with a packet of milk chocolate digestives (the seriously chocolatey ones though, not the regular ones, you deserve it, and anyway, Dave ain't getting any).
Before you know it, you’re back home, drinking tea and cramming in delicately nibbling on a chocolate digestive, content in the knowledge that your baby hasn’t even stirred, safe and snuggled as they are just where they’re meant to be.

So, can anyone tell me the point of this story?
Yes, you at the back...
"Dave's an arse?"
No, that's not the point of the story. An arse he may be, but there's more going on than Dave being an arse. Anyone else?
"She should have bought more than one packet of biscuits?"
Sigh... no, it's nothing to do with biscuits. Anyone else? Anyone?
"She should only have had 1 biscuit on account of it nearly being lunchtime?"
I said it's nothing to do with biscuits! And who said anything about lunch!? It doesn't matter what time of day it is, she can eat as many biscuits as she likes!
Ok, I'll tell you myself.
The point is that babywearing makes anything possible. Couple a sling with a babywearing coat and you can go anywhere and do anything even when it's hammering it down.
And you can go anywhere and do anything with a sleeping baby in tow, who, chances are, won't even wake up whilst you do the anythings in the anywheres.
Ok, so now that that's out of the way, let's get more seriouser and boringer and look at the specifics of the jacket.

What Makes This Jacket Stand Out?
When looking for a babywearing jacket, you want something that’s warm, practical, and stylish - without feeling bulky or awkward, right? The Love & Carry Babywearing and Maternity Jacket ticks all these boxes, but what really makes it special?
1. Designed for Every Stage of Motherhood
One of the biggest selling points of this jacket is its versatility. It’s not just for babywearing - it’s a 3-in-1 jacket designed to adapt to different stages:
✅ Maternity: Wear it comfortably over a growing bump using the maternity insert.
✅ Babywearing: Easily zip in the baby panel for front or back carrying.
✅ Regular Wear: Remove the inserts and wear it as a standard jacket.

This means you’re not just buying a babywearing coat - you’re investing in something that'll last waaaay beyond babywearing.
2. Softshell Material – Lightweight Yet Weatherproof
Unlike bulky winter coats, this jacket is made from a lightweight softshell fabric that provides warmth without adding unnecessary bulk. The windproof and water-resistant outer layer keeps you and your baby protected from the elements while still remaining breathable.

3. Designed with Both Parent & Baby in Mind
Many babywearing jackets focus only on function, but this one is designed for comfort and style. Some thoughtful details include:
- Adjustable hoods for both parent and baby (so no more struggling with hats that fall off!).
- Deep, zippered pockets — perfect for keeping your hands warm or storing your essential bits and bobs.
- A flattering, fitted shape — so you don’t feel like you’re wearing a giant poncho (been there, done that).
4. Works with Different Baby Carriers
Whether you prefer a wrap, sling, or structured carrier, this jacket works with them all. It’s designed to fit over most baby carriers, making it a great choice for all types of babywearing.

Final Thoughts
What sets the Love & Carry Babywearing Jacket apart is its combination of style, function, and versatility. It’s practical enough for everyday wear, protective enough for all-weather outings, and stylish enough that you actually want to wear it - baby or no baby!
Fabric, Fit, and Design – Is It Comfortable?
When it comes to a babywearing jacket, comfort is just as important as warmth and functionality. The Love & Carry Babywearing Jacket is designed to be worn for long periods; whether you’re out for a walk, running errands, or just getting fresh air with your little one. But how does it actually feel?
Soft Yet Durable Fabric
The jacket is made from a softshell material that strikes a balance between flexibility, warmth, and protection. It has a smooth, slightly stretchy feel, making it easy to move in without feeling stiff or restrictive.
The outer layer is windproof and water-resistant, keeping you and your baby dry in light rain or drizzle.
The inner lining is soft and breathable, so you stay comfortable without overheating.
Unlike heavy winter coats, this jacket feels lightweight but still warm, which is perfect for active parents who don’t want to feel weighed down.
Fit – Flattering and Adjustable
One of the standout features of this jacket is its versatile fit. Unlike some babywearing jackets that feel oversized or shapeless, this one has a more tailored design that still allows for plenty of movement.
It fits snugly without feeling tight, so you don’t look like you’re wearing a giant, bulky coat.
There’s enough room for layering, making it easy to adjust based on the weather.
The adjustable inserts mean you can switch between pregnancy, babywearing, and regular wear effortlessly.
It’s also worth noting that the jacket works well for front and back carrying, so you can babywear however you prefer without feeling off-balance.
Comfort for Parent & Baby
A babywearing jacket isn’t just about keeping you warm - it also needs to be comfortable for your baby.
The jacket moves with you, rather than feeling stiff or restrictive, which is especially important when bending, reaching, or adjusting your carrier.
In Conclusion
This jacket is fab. You should get one.
In all seriousness though, the Love & Carry Babywearing Jacket is designed with both style and function in mind. It’s warm without being bulky, fitted without being restrictive, and soft without sacrificing durability.
It's just as great if you're out for a family hike, or if you have to nip down the road to the shops in the rain for milk because your partner forgot to get any despite your reminding him more than once.
