    The Best Baby Carriers For Summer

    It can take a little bit of extra thought and effort when babywearing in summer, and choosing the right baby carrier can make all the difference. Baby carriers that work well in summer / warmer weather fall into 2 categories, generally speaking:

    • those that are lighter / less structured, and therefore naturally cooler in themselves, and;
    • those that have been specifically designed for babywearing in warmer weather (using a mesh fabric for the main panel, for example).

    A really good buckle carrier (also known as a soft-structured carrier) will allow you to carry your little one in such a way as to be respectful of their physiology.

    Stretchy Wraps

    A stretchy wrap can be tied at the start of the day and left on, with no need to readjust. This can be very reassuring in the early days, particularly as you’re adjusting to being a new parent. You know where the sling is, at all times, and it’s for baby and you.

    Stretchy wraps all perform the same function, yet they’re not all the sam

  5. Babywearing In Summer & Warm Weather - 10 Top Tips

    So the weather is definitely summery and it's turned hot. In this heat, it's hard not to 'glow' (my French teacher once chastised me for using the term sweat - she would always say 'pigs sweat, men perspire & woman glow'). Glowing or not, I freely admit to being a sweaty bundle in this heat - and when carrying babies in slings, you get to carry another little sweaty bundle too!

    But there are a few things you can do to stay as comfortable as possible when babywearing, and there are some carriers that are more suited to carrying in warm weather, which I talk about below.

    Ring Slings

    A ring sling can be a wonderful option in warmer weather. As a single layer carry, there's less fabric, than say, a woven wrap. It's a lighter sling for you and for
