Baby Alpaca Legwarmers
Legwarmers for babies made from alpaca fibre, not legwarmers made from baby alpacas. That would be, well, just not right.
I was googling alapcas (as you do) just to find out a bit more about them. My 9 year old runs in and, when she sees what’s on the screen, stops in her tracks and shouts,
“OH MUMMY ARE YOU GOING TO BUY ME AN ALPACA?!”
“Yes of course darling, how many would you like?”
“Erm, no, honey, I’m not. Go and play with the ones across the road.” (there’s an alpaca farm just 2 minutes away from us).
Anyway, aside from the fact that they are highly sociable and very gentle, the part I was most interested in was the fact that their fleece is exceptionally lightweight, breathable and water-resistant. And because it’s a fibre and not a wool, it doesn’t have any lanolin so it’s not itchy! It’s warmer than wool, too.
Perfect for making legwarmers then, right?
These are hand-crafted in small, family run mills in Peru, and are produced to high standards in terms of material, design, colour and finish.
They’re soft and luxurious and perfect for little legs when babywearing or crawling about. And good for adults as wrist-warmers.
